The report from the US Embassy near Monrovia says, On Wednesday, International Women of Courage 2022 Awardee Facia Harris met U.S. First Lady Jill Biden, host of the 17th annual International Women of Courage (IWOC) Awards at the White House.
Facia is one of 180 women in 80 countries recognized by the U.S. Department of State since the inception of the International Women of Courage Award in March 2007.
The IWOC award recognizes women who promote the human rights of members of marginalized communities, protect the rule of law, inform the public from the center of conflicts, and advance women’s leadership and gender equality.
The United States is committed to empowering and amplifying the voices of women and girls in all their diversity and will continue to demand that their human rights be respected.
