The supporters believed from the Ruling Coalition For Democratic Change CDC on early Sunday Morning May 21, besieged the former Rebel Leader Church, now an opposition Nimba County Senator, Prince Y. Johnson and disrupted their normal worship while Johnson was expected to expose President Weah’s government on his pulpit.
“We are here from the National Patriotic Party NPP and Coalition For Democratic Change CDC to prevent Senator Johnson from using any provocation against the Vice president and President of Liberia, Jewel Howard Taylor and George Weah respectively,” the group told the media.
According to them, if Senator Johnson continues his disrespectful behavior against the government he must be expecting actions that he ever sees before.
Senator Johnson however declared the service closed and promised to preach his message on the following Sunday.
” Jewel and Koijee send their hooligans to come and kill our people. I am the target.
An Executive Mansion Protect Service Agent whose name I will not call came to my house and confessed that Jewel and Monrovia City Mayor Koijee want to assassinate me”, Prince Johnson told the media immediately aborting his service.
He assures his followers that no amount of force and attack will prevent him preaching by next Sunday as he will be fully prepared to counter any form of violence.
Prince Johnson is an erstwhile Leader of the rebel group, the Independent Patriotic Front of Liberia INPFL who captured and assassinated the late Liberian President, Samuel K. Doe in the early 90th during the beginning of the Liberian civil war that lasted over ten years, while about 250 thousand people were killed.
