Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Liberians,
In light of recent events surrounding the October 10th Presidential election, I stand before you today, on behalf of the Liberia First Movement, to call for calm, respect for the democratic process, and a commitment to upholding the will of the Liberian people.
I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all Liberians for their immense turnout and unwavering commitment to the democratic process. Your dedication to shaping the future of our nation is truly commendable, and it is a testament to the strength of our democracy.
However, I must address a growing concern. It is crucial for both the ruling party, the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), and the opposition party, the Unity Party (UP), to refrain from creating chaos or making undemocratic proclamations as the winner of the election. Such actions can undermine the legitimacy of the electoral process and lead to instability and division within our beloved nation.
I urge all political parties, their leaders, and supporters to exercise restraint and patience during this critical time. Let us allow the National Election Commission to carry out their duties diligently and announce the official results. It is only through this transparent and impartial process that we can ensure the will of the Liberian people is respected.
In the face of uncertainty, it is our duty to maintain calm and support the democratic process. Let us avoid any actions or statements that could incite violence or disrupt the peace that we have worked so hard to achieve. Instead, let us demonstrate our commitment to democracy by accepting the will of the Liberian people, as determined by the official results.
I want to express my deepest gratitude once again to the Liberian people for their massive support and dedication to the democratic process. Your voices matter, and it is through your participation that we can shape a better future for our nation.
As we eagerly await the announcement of the official results, I call upon every Liberian to have faith in our institutions and the integrity of the electoral process. Let us remain calm, united, and respectful, regardless of the outcome. Together, we can overcome any challenges and work towards building a prosperous and inclusive Liberia.
May God bless Liberia, and may we continue to uphold the principles of democracy, peace, and unity.
