The Movement for Economic Empower (MOVEE) Executives Members, including the National Executive Committee (NEC), National Women League (NWL), and the National Youth League (NYL) among others, reached a bilateral decision during an emergency sitting held over the weekend at their Party headquarters in Paynesville outside Monrovia and reaffirmed, Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah position as their Political leader till 2029.
“We the members of the National Executive Committee of the Movement For Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) unanimously resolved and hereby declare a vote of absolute confidence in the wholesome integrity, professionalism, credibility, ability, leadership qualities, and astuteness of His Excellency Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. and with immediate effect petition and mandates Ambassador Kemayah to guide, lead, and provide political direction for the Movement For Economic Employment (MOVEE) through the 2029 general and presidential elections.
“We the members of the National Executive Committee of the Movement For Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) unanimously resolved and hereby extend our heartfelt gratitude to Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Political Leader of the Movement For Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) for his invaluable role as role model and mentor to us for transparency and accountability in the party. It is important to point out that Ambassador Kemayah has since the formation of MOVEE up to present never been involved with a single cent or material of MOVEE and more so Ambassador Kemayah has also never been a part of the financial and or material management of MOVEE. Hence, we further extend our deepest gratitude to Ambassador Kemayah for his support to the party before, during, and after its formation long before the 2017 general and presidential elections,” MOVEE’s NEC stated.
The party position was made known in separate resolution statements issued by various auxiliaries, including the NEC, NWL, NYW, Montserrado, Grand Bassa, and Nimba Counties Leadership Chapters among others.
Reading their separate resolution statements; the National Leadership of the Movement for Economic Empowerment was authorized and further mandated to communicate the position of the National Executive Committee to the National Elections Commission (NEC) of Liberia within four (4) days beginning the date of their sitting, June 8, 2024, that Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. remains the Political Head of the Party for the six years he was elected for. ”We acknowledge his overwhelming support to the party since its formation and we are requesting the National Executive Committee to continue to uphold the outcome of September 17, 2022. Elections during the National Convention of the party at which time the delegates resolved to elect and elected H. E. Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. to serve the party for six (6) years as its political leader ”.
MOVEE through NEC, NWL, NYL, and others auxiliaries reaffirmed that the party remains a constituent member of the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and reassured its commitment to former President, George Weah’s position as the Standard Bearer of the Coalition.
Meanwhile, the National Executive Committee condemns and renders as fraudulent, misinformation, disinformation, irresponsible, and cowardice the Tuesday, June 4, 2024, Press Statement issued by expelled former National Vice Chair for Administration Mr. K. Matthew Shan, expelled former National Assistant Secretary General Mr. Jeremiah E. Paye and others against the political Leader of MOVEE Amb. Kemayah, claimed and misleading the public that the political leader was expelled from the party.
In a submission to their MOVEE 2016 Constitution before the National Election Commission (NEC) of Liberia, the Youth League headed by Winston Gray acknowledged supporting the decision of their National Executive Committee for the stability and advancement of the Party.
Among many others, the Youth also confirmed that Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah Sr. remains the National Political Leader of the Movement for Economic Empowerment since being elected at their September 17, 2022 Convention to serve for six years, and therefore, continues to gain the confidence of the National Executive Committee, the National Women League, the National Youth League, and all Auxiliaries of the Party.
The National Women League of the party headed by Ms. Angeline Gborie, National Vice Chair For Women Affairs pledged their unflinching support to the decisions taken by the National Executive Committee of the party in their June 8, 2024 sitting.
Additionally, the Women’s League also frowns and terms as barbaric, uncivilized, and gross violation of the party’s Constitution, the Tuesday May 14, 2024, unprovoked attack on the headquarters and peaceful partisans of the Movement for Economic Empowerment by expelled former National Vice Chair for Administration Mr. K. Matthew Shan, expelled former Assistant Secretary General Mr. Jeremiah E. Paye, expelled former partisan Goodrich S. Cheayah and expelled former County Vice Chairman for Administration for Montserrado Patrick P. Karmo purposely to burglarize and illegally seize control of the premises of the party.
