Justice Forum LIBERIA (J.F.L) Executive Director, Amb. Maxson S. Kpakio, has termed as unbelievable and embarrassing, the recent drug case in which the verdict was rendered against the Liberian government.
Amb. Kpakio, who is one of the lead campaigners against illicit drugs in the country, is quoted by saying that it is hugely unfortunate that despite the government of Liberia being assisted by both the government of Brazil and the USA leading to the arrest of individuals involved and drugs seized as evidence, the letting off of the accused could add to the already bad image of Liberia.
He is therefore calling on the executive branch of the Liberian government through the ministry of Justice to take an appeal. Amb. Kpakio cautioned seriously against the weakness of the Liberian government in the fight against narcotics and other bad substances entering Liberia including kush and shisha. He also called on the Capitol Building to get involved by inviting the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the LDEA boss, and the Minister of State for questioning.
Meanwhile, Justice Forum LIBERIA is threatening to sue the Liberian government should it not take an appeal in the case. Expressing further, JFL Executive Director is demanding the Liberia government to produce the living bodies of the accused.
