The Managing Director of China Henan International Cooperation to Liberia CHICO, Mr. Wu Zhenjiao announces their Chico Care initiative to provide self social responsibility within their contracted corridors to ease economic difficulties.
“Our Chico care provides over US$10,00 annually in self initiative services such as roads, water among others while we focus on providing over 1000 job opportunities to local citizens among which 300 will get trained for a skilled career. We initiated “CHICO Care ” to help those in need and will work closely with our counterparts for greater good”, CHICO Manager asserted.
Speaking at the official dedication of the Tobeyville Primary School constructed in Maryland County, funded by the People Republic of China through their Embassy near Monrovia over the weekend, Chico general Manager said through their Chico care,they added over US$10,000 in addition to their contract to expand Tobeyville Primary School project .
According to him, they will remain committed to the sustainable development of human beings and local communities/ alongside the fulfilling of their contractual obligations,
He maintained that, they consider themself not only a contractor of a project but rather a development partner of Liberia.
Mr. Zhenjiao also noted, they offer customers high quality and value-added products and solutions with technical, economic, environmental and social values while reducing the impact on the climate, resources and natural environments, achieving extraordinary results for their stakeholders and promoting inclusive performance of their employees.
CHICO is a Chinese state owned construction and engineering company held by the provincial government of Henan. The construction company is known for being part of the “vanguard of the country’s Africa drive”. The company began working in Liberia in 2008.
