One of the famous Liberian political commentators and talk show Host, Henry Pedro Costa has distanced his involvement in sharing the Opposition Unity Party standard bearer, Joseph Nyumah Boakai medical information on social Media and said, he will never in good conscience release the medical records of any individual.
Few days after FrontPage Africa Newspaper and other social media published an article claiming to be released by Coastal indicating that he leaked an information in their group chatroom stating that he rescued the Unity Party with the some of US$60,000 to pay for the rent of their Party Headquarters and exposing Boakai’s health records, Costa denied alleged action and call for the verification of any information before accepting it as true.
Responding to the alleged leaked information on Boakai’s health and the Party through his official social media platform, he said, ” I just woke up to a frenzy online concerning the circulation of screenshots and medical records pertaining to former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, supposedly released by me, which have been shared on Facebook and published in FrontPage Africa newspaper.
First and foremost, I would like to state categorically that I have not released any such information pertaining to Joseph Nyuma Boakai. The screenshots and medical records being circulated appear to be fabricated and doctored. I vehemently deny any involvement in their creation, dissemination, or publication.
This is not the first time, nor will it be the last time that certain individuals seeking their own political ends would do such a thing in my name.
I don’t need anyone to fight my battles for me. I do not throw rocks and hide my hands.
In this age of rapidly spreading misinformation, it is crucial to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of any information before accepting it as true.
I would never, in good conscience, release the medical records of any individual. I find it wrong and distasteful!
Thank you.”
