Chinese Embassy in Liberia Mourns Martyr Jiang Chongyu

On the occasion of the Ching Ming Festival on April 4, all staff of the Chinese Embassy in Liberia went to the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC) to hold a ceremony to deeply mourn Martyr Jiang Chongyu, who was sacrificed in the line of duty for the promotion of China-Liberia friendship cooperation.

Ambassador Yin Chengwu attended the ceremony and said that Martyr Jiang Chongyu was an envoy of friendship and a hero of civil diplomacy. She practiced the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith, and the principles of pursuing the greater good and common interests with her precious life, and made outstanding contributions to the capacity building of the Liberian people and won honors for her motherland.

During the program all the participants stood in silence, and then laid bouquets of flowers for the martyr.

 Ching Ming Festival is  a traditional Chinese holiday to honor the dead and heroes.

“Yesterday April 4 2024, all of us at the Embassy went to the MVTC to pay tribute to the memory of Martyr Jiang Chongyu, a woman who gave her life for the friendship between China and Liberia. We would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to all the heroes who have given their lives for the friendship between China and Liberia,” a release from Chinese Embassy narrated.
