The contradictory appointment of Amb. Jeremiah Solunteh, as the national campaign chair to the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has placed him in situation to decide neither to accept the position or not.
“I will speak to the press but I am currently in consultation to come up with my next move,” Jeremiah told Journalist via phone.
Mid last week, Sulunteh was appointed as the National campaign chairman of the ruling CDC by the party Chairman, Mulbah K. Morlu.
Few hours after his appointment, Mr. Morlu broke silence, characterized his action as oversight and said, he is the county campaign chair of Bong County.
Even though several media outlets have reported Morlu pronouncement , appointing Mr. Solunteh as the National Campaign Chairman of CDC, Chairman Morlu acknowledged an oversight on his part for mistakenly announcing Mr. Solunteh as the national campaign chairman during the party’s recent media conference at their Congo Town headquarters.
Mulbah K. Morlu provided clarification that Mr. Jeremiah Solunteh is not the party’s national campaign chairman, but rather the campaign chairman for Bong County.
His clarification comes shortly after pronouncing Mr. Solunteh, a former strong member of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) who ran as a vice running mate to Alexander Cummings in the 2017 presidential and legislative elections.
Speaking to Amb. Jeremiah Solunteh via phone, he said all comments are reserved for now as he is in consultation to shortly come up with responses to Morlu and his CDC decision.
