The Thomas Foundation Vocational Training Institute over the weekend graduated over 3800 Liberians in various Vocational skills preparing them to be productive in the society
“The skills you have obtained is the first of its kind as it’s been offered totally free and it’s our hope and optimism that you will utilize such skills ambitiously to change the World”, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Thomas foundation Vocational training Institute, Michael Thomas acknowledged graduates .
The CEO of the Institute noted that their aim is to: prepare youth for work, support self- employment, Economic empowerment, transforming youth into entrepreneurs and making them champions of themselves and also to enhance the livelihood of young people.
He said, the Technical Vocational Education Training TVET helps to facilitate socio-economic development by enhancing the capacity of individuals to adopt practices that are socially worthwhile, the development of a workforce enables people to use opportunities for a decent job, working with high productivity and protecting the environment.
He also called on the graduates to become the light and voice of the World that will make a difference by speaking against: Domestic violence and drug abuse.
“TVET can also stimulate local economies by creating jobs directly as many TVET Programs are designed in Collaboration with local employers so they can help be tailored to meet the specific needs of the job market.
This can help to create new jobs in the community, and can also help to retain talent by providing local residents with the skills and training they need to succeed in their careers”, the CEO of the Institution Mr. Michael Thomas noted.
However, Mr. Thomas encouraged the graduates to build a strong networking and coordination amongst themselves and said, networking and coordination are the cardinal factors success is based on.
