𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧  36 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲  𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 

ADNews- Addis Ababa: The African Heads of States  gathered  in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to participate in the 36th Ordinary Session of The Assembly of the African Union, with this year’s theme  “The Year of AfCFTA: Acceleration of the African Continental Free Trade Area Implementation”. 

Among many other matters,  the Assembly is focusing on considering, the draft agenda, draft decisions and declarations of the Assembly for adoption, that was submitted by the 42nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council held prior to the Summit, and also examining the strategic status reports on the Institutional Reforms of the AU.

The Session will also study the activities of the Peace and Security Council (PSC), the Report on Global Political, Financial and Energy Policy Governance, and that on Global Food Crisis and the AU’s response on Covid-19 pandemic in Africa. 

The platform will further provide them the opportunity to hold bilateral talks among fellow Heads of States and also conduct sideline meetings with various business leaders, cooperating partners and stakeholders  for the  Transformational Agenda of the Continent. 

The 36th Ordinary Session of the AU comes 60 years after the birth of the Organisation of African Unity(OAU) and 20 years of the African Union(AU).
